Excellent Touring ExperienceArnold Powell ,CanadaAge: 60+October 26, 2013
We recently travelled to England on a two week holiday. It's not an opportunity that we often have and we were anxious to see as much of England as we possibly could at a reasonable cost. We were delighted with our Britrail experience and would certainly do this again if we ever get the chance. The schedules and service really exceeded all of our expectations.

A Great Experience!Polly ,USAAge: 60+October 23, 2013
We have been talking about hiking on the Pennine Way since we first met 47 years ago! This September we hiked the first 100 miles. With Britrail tickets in hand we took five trains from Suffolk to the start of the trek in Edale, Derbyshire, and the trip there was seamless, arriving right on time. 10 days later, weary, worn but HAPPY we took five trains from Horton-in-Ribblesdale back to the start of trip in Suffolk. Once again a great experience with the convenience of getting on ANY train, at ANY time with a ticket already in hand! A week later, another hike from Marlow to Oxford with four changes of trains in each direction -seamless and on time. Next time we will get a Britrail Pass, carry a backpack and just go from station to station and get on trains to whichever destination sounds promising! HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing Britrail Passes.

Good for free travelingMichelle Jang ,South KoreaAge: 30-39October 23, 2013
I bought a flexible Brit rail pass for my first UK trip this Sept. Normally when I leave on a overseas trip, I don't make a fixed schedule. I prefer to make a schedule as it comes on site. So such a person like me, it is the best choice. If you plan UK free traveling, I could tell you there is nothing better than this flexible pass. Good value and convenient. Olny one thing to note, as it is made of a paper, you need to keep it carefully, not to get it wet.

Died and Gone to Rail HeavenDavid Lavender ,CanadaAge: 60+October 13, 2013
Extremely convenient, almost to the point of feeling like I didn't need a car to travel the entire country. Seemed like I could always catch the next train in 30 minutes or less. You are indeed a fortunate country to have such a system and the "swivelservants" in charge of VIA should be taking notes...and reading them until they get it.

Onward to "Devon is Heaven"Constance Hellam ,United StatesAge: 60+October 05, 2013
My husband and I visit a friend in Barnstaple, England about every other summer. When we do, we always purchase BritRail passes here in the US before we go. The rail system in England is easy to use for us Americans who do not normally use a train when we travel. Because we are "senior citizens" who need more pampering, and it is such a long trip from California to London, we buy the first class tickets. We consider it a bargain. The seats are roomy and comfortable, the service is friendly and helpful, and the tea is always forthcoming. You can not beat that! I would recommend BritRail to anyone traveling in Great Britain.

Easy way of travellingThomas Witzel ,GermanyAge: 40-49October 05, 2013
A Britrail Pass ist just an easy way of travelling by train. You can use every train even the Heatrow Express and the fast train to Plymouth. Just catch the train and show your Britrail Pass. And all the trains I used were on time. So I enjoyed travelling by train in the UK.

Good valueRF ,CanadaAge: 60+September 29, 2013
We used the BritRail pass while travelling on vacation in England. We found that the pas represented good value for money, as the individual fares would have cost a lot more. It's also convenient as there is no need to buy tickets in advance or tickets for a specific train - therefore it provides considerable freedom in schedule and choice of routes. We travelled first class and found the extra cost was money well-spent. The seating is better and most trains will provide complimentary snacks and beverages. Virgin and Cross Country trains are excellent. South West trains are OK We found it was an excellent way to travel - there are frequent trains and good connections. We would recommend it to other travellers who don't want the bother of car rental or the anxiety of driving on the left.

Be careful, compare, think it throughLola Wilcox ,USAAge: 60+September 27, 2013
Working with BritRail agent, bought 8 days, used 7. However, if we bought tickets instead of a pass we would've saved $400. We feel agent should say the passes are more than buying the tickets at the station. Long distance trains were worth the money, and often had good views. Short distance trains are very inexpensive; so are short distance buses - compare! As my husband travels in a wheelchair I reserved seats which the agent charged to do. However, my husband was placed in a wheelchair space and I sat nearby - don't reserve seats! I wish I'd understood how wheelchairs work ahead of time. Attendants fetched ramps, were most helpful getting on and off; station likes to be notified by phone the day before.

Lost passMichael Pentin ,AustraliaAge: 50-59September 23, 2013
I bought the Britrail Railpass because of the flexibility of the pass to catch trains at any time at a good value price. I only had a three day pass and intended to use it along with my partner for 2 day trips from the North of England and to travel to the North after arriving on Eurostar. Sadly on my first journey I dropped the pass from my pocket while in the train from London to Scarborough and no one handed it in despite making enquiries. I would like to try again on my next visit and hopefully be more careful however it was an expensive lesson and my fault. I could not find any information on what to do if you lost your pass.
