  • You can buy a BritRail Pass if you are not a UK resident.

  • Customers can select a first date of travel that is up to 11 months from the purchase date.

  • Airport Express
  • Some trains in Great Britain do not have 1st class accommodations. The price of 1st class passes have been adjusted to reflect this.
Pass Delivery
  • If a paper pass is selected, this pass is printed on official railway ticket paper that will be shipped to you. You can select from the available shipping options during checkout. Please allow sufficient time to receive your pass before your departure.
  • If an M-Pass is selected, an email with an activation link will be sent. When you are ready to use the M-Pass, click the link to select your first day of use or travel dates. After you have completed the check-in, you will be able to download your M-Pass.

The BritRail England Flexible or Consecutive Pass can now be downloaded directly to your phone saving you any shipping fees. The M-Pass lets you skip the ticket line by easily scanning the barcode where you can then enter the train platform. This pass has a printable PDF format in case of loss or theft. M-Passes are not eligible for the Saver discount. One free seat reservation is included with each Flexible M-Pass purchase.

Seat Reservations
  • A seat reservation is optional but recommended in order to guarantee a seat on a specific train and time. Reserve a seat.

Note: Passengers who wish to upgrade a Standard Class BritRail Pass to First Class will need to pay the difference in excess between the Standard and First Class Ordinary Fare for the leg of the journey that has not been taken. This may be paid at the ticket office before boarding the train or to the ticket inspector on the train.

The BritRail pass was a great value for us, as we used it to travel all over the country. It paid for itself pretty quickly and saved all the hassle of buying the right ticket for the right train at the right time. Definitely suggest making reservations once you are there for your key destinations-it's free when done from any ticket office. Watch riding on the weekends-trains are often cancelled, delayed or very crowded. Also, many stops only have stairs...bad for hauling luggage or those with mobility issues.

Buying a Britrail England Consecutive Pass enabled me to attend planned meetings in the north and catch up with family in the south-west, and also stay with dear friends in London and in the South around Brighton. It was great value for money for what I needed. The ability to scan your phone over the turnstile ticket readers is not quite there at all stations I visited though. But the video is right - if the self-scan doesn't work, station staff will waive you through on presentation of your mobile ticket. All in all, a great experience!

The flexi pass is a great way to travel the UK when and where you will. If you are a senior then 1st class is best because the rail system is very overcrowded in UK now and if possible reserve your seat.

Try and arrange your travel to be on weekdays after rush hour or commuter times. Travel on a Friday is likely to be very busy.

I was so grateful to have found this pass during my travels. It was not only a really great deal financially, it was also really easy to use. It made traveling really convenient because I never had to worry about which train I was going to take or what would happen if I missed my train. Highly recommended to everyone!

I was travelling with my wife. We used flexipasses because of the convenience, and that was good. However, I purchased first-class passes, and I was most disappointed: on only one of the many trains we used was there anything providing the comfort we expected, for the first class accommodation differed from the other coaches only in that a piece of cloth was fixed to the back of the seats proclaiming them to be first class. That was the only difference: the seats were exactly the same. Very disappointing, and not at all worth the considerable additional charge. On the one occasion when there was a real first class, it was very comfortable, with free snacks provided. But on all the other trains I felt not only disappointed, but cheated. Hence my low ratings for 'Value' and 'Comfort'.
We are very sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your experience with the BritRail Pass. Depending on travel schedules and itinerary, the pass can offer some great value. With that said, we've taken note of your concerns with the BritRail Pass and we will provide the feedback to Eurail in hope it can help improve the product in the future. We were fortunate to have someone familiar with Brit Rail to advise us to purchase our day tickets prior to arriving in England. First class is only where first class is offered. You could easily pay for first class and travel in standing room only general service if you do not know what service goes where! The premium for first class is great when there is a first class service, otherwise you are paying a premium for no service!

Very pleased with the rail pass (2nd time i have used one). I was lucky enough to get a free day added because of the Royal Wedding so was able to travel the length of England in First class for a very reasonable price. Thoroughly recommend.

The BritRailPass was the perfect thing for my wife and I while traveling in England in May. The Flexi pass allowed us to hop and on the trains, without lining up for tickets, without reservations, and we had no difficulties using the tickets anywhere. Thanks.

We had an 8-day continuous pass and once we verified our passes with a starting date, these passes we simple, easy and seemless. At one point we even used it several times in one day. Train times were great and we never had an issue getting a seat. Wouldn't do it any other way. Highly recommended.
