BritRail London Pass was just rightHeather Keenan ,USAAge: 30-39June 28, 2014
We purchased this pass for our travel in December. It conveniently inhluded passes on the Heathrow Express, which was great. We arrived at Heathrow in the early morning, jet lagged, so it was perfect to have those passes already purchased. This pass allowed us to travel with ease and flexibility whenever we wanted to jump on a train. No waiting in line to purchase individual tickets at the station, or hoping you get the best rate. We went to from London to Cambride, and Oxford, and always had a seamless experience cathinnour trains. I highly reccommend this option, and purchasing in advance. Do note that it does not include travel on the London Uderground system, so you'll need to buy some Oyster cards as well.

The Britrail London Plus Pass is very good value and provides great flexibility to travel whenever you want without having to book ahead to get cheap tickets. This is a much more practical way of travelling even if you do have fixed itineraries. You never need to queue up to buy a rail ticket or figure out how to use the British rail ticket machines.

The passes are pretty good, but it's not clear whether the "bonus" Heathrow Express coupon counts as using the pass that day. It's silly to waste one day of a 4-day pass just to get in to London. There was also a jobsworth at Paddington that wanted to minutely examine the entire pass booket and nearly made me late to the train I wanted.
The extra coupons that come with your London Plus Pass are exclusively for use either from Heathrow airport to London Paddington station or vice versa. This allows you to reserve the London Plus Pass for your other rail journeys.

Easy way to travelRos Lever ,AustraliaAge: 60+June 27, 2014
Bought our Britrail pass before we left home so it was very easy to just turn up at the station and hop on a train without worry about where we were going or the cost on the day. If used for every journey it is value for money and the free trip to and from Heathrow Airport is a bonus. Used it 10 years ago when we visited the UK as well.

Item: 2-day First Class London+ Pass, European version. For some reason the Euro version doesn't include any airport express tickets, maybe the Euros do all arrive by ship? More worryingly, nowhere *at the time of the order* is the fact stated that the pass is not valid at all on these expresses, unlike I'd come to expect with the other England-based passes (only on the "contact us" FAQ page is the information about the non-validity given). I'd assumed that the "complimentary" airport express vouchers for non-Europeans were only given to save the limited days of train travel on multiple-day holidays, like a day of arrival or departure otherwise spent staying in London. No indication that the vouchers were indeed the *only* way to use these expresses. Now I understand why the ticket is so (relatively) cheap. Compared to the England pass not so good value at all, with the more restricted boundaries and all the high-speed services but the FGW to Bristol in effect excluded, moreover with all the ex-BR Southern and Eastern Region train companies offering rather pitiful First Class service in general.
Thank you for your review! We aim at keeping our customers informed about our products in the clearest way possible. You can find an information box next to Airport Express under the list of bonuses and inclusions. The information box states that the airport express coupons are not included with the BritRail Euro London Plus Pass. Under the light of your review however, we will evaluate new ways to make this restriction readily available to our European customers.

Great value if you take many trains a dayEle ,LithuaniaAge: 30-39June 15, 2014
For my trip to England, I bought a Britrail London Plus pass for 142 EUR (17 EUR was for the shipping, which I honestly find a terrible rip-off). That roughly makes 115 British pounds. Today I counted my train journeys with the pass and the final sum is 248 pounds. 248-115=133 pounds worth, saved by using the pass instead of buying individual tickets. I had a 4 days pass, 2nd class.

Great Value / Great RideRick Tulisalo ,USAAge: 50-59April 03, 2014
On a recent trip to England to visit friends who live in Broadstairs, I purchased a 2 day London Plus pass to use the train to get from Broadstairs to London for a couple of days. It was THE way to get there and back. The trains are not only fast (The Javelin, HS2), they are extremely comfortable, quiet and smooth. There cannot be a quicker or easier way to get to London from the southeast coast of England. I'll definitely use it again if I'm fortunate enough to return someday. On a humorous note, the station in Broadstairs is definitely NOT a modern-day station...it looked more like a train station from the 30's or 40's. And when I went to the window to check in, I handed my ticket to the very nice gentleman seated behind the glass. He looked at the ticket, then at me, and I stepped right into a Monty Python sketch. He says, "What's this then?" I doubt he'd ever seen a ticket like that before, and he wasn't alone. The next day, a different guy said almost the same exact thing. In fact, I had to suggest to him what to do. The conductor on the train, fortunately, recognized it, and I was allowed to travel the rest of the way to London. Great memories I'll keep for a lifetime. Now that I know how it works, I'll be a lot more helpful to the employees at the Southeastern Rail window. I loved the whole thing.

GREAT VALUE FOR THE $$$Pat ,USAAge: 60+February 17, 2014
My husband I have traveled to the UK several times and really loved having the passes! We never had to wait in line for tickets and the convenience of taking the train was fast and fun! Most of the train stations were very convenient to the attractions that we were going too-many within a short walk. Conductors were very helpful when we were a bit confused. We will use the pass again and recommend it to friends. This trip we bought the London Plus pass and it covered a very large area. Thanks BritRail!

England at your fingertipsKyra ,AustraliaAge: 30-39October 18, 2013
The London Plus Pass was the perfect travelling companion for two marvellous weeks in June. Rainy day in London? No problem - it's beautiful in Brighton! The pass made it easy to jump on a train at short notice with no worrying about lining up for tickets or what it would cost or whether it was peak or off-peak. I could stay late in Cambridge for evensong, watch the sun hang low over Salisbury (and come home early from Canterbury when it started to rain...). No fuss, no lines. Just frequent services, clean comfortable carriages and a fortnight of views from the windows of rolling green hills, fat happy sheep, oast houses, white cliffs, church steeples, fields of poppies, golden canola and cloud shadows dancing over the meadows. I can't wait to see where my next BritRail Pass will take me.

Convenient railpassStefan ,SwedenAge: 30-39September 15, 2013
Very convenient rail pass for travel in south-eastern England. During my holiday, I needed to make several one-way trips between a couple of cities in England, and this pass saved me a lot of money compared to buying tickets at the station right before the departure. It also allowed me to take longer routes and stop at some places on the way. The only problem I had was that the pass didn't work in the automatic ticket gates, and once when I got off at London King's Cross, there was no guard around who could let me out.
