Great Value / Great RideRick Tulisalo ,USAAge: 50-59April 03, 2014
On a recent trip to England to visit friends who live in Broadstairs, I purchased a 2 day London Plus pass to use the train to get from Broadstairs to London for a couple of days. It was THE way to get there and back. The trains are not only fast (The Javelin, HS2), they are extremely comfortable, quiet and smooth. There cannot be a quicker or easier way to get to London from the southeast coast of England. I'll definitely use it again if I'm fortunate enough to return someday. On a humorous note, the station in Broadstairs is definitely NOT a modern-day station...it looked more like a train station from the 30's or 40's. And when I went to the window to check in, I handed my ticket to the very nice gentleman seated behind the glass. He looked at the ticket, then at me, and I stepped right into a Monty Python sketch. He says, "What's this then?" I doubt he'd ever seen a ticket like that before, and he wasn't alone. The next day, a different guy said almost the same exact thing. In fact, I had to suggest to him what to do. The conductor on the train, fortunately, recognized it, and I was allowed to travel the rest of the way to London. Great memories I'll keep for a lifetime. Now that I know how it works, I'll be a lot more helpful to the employees at the Southeastern Rail window. I loved the whole thing.

GREAT VALUE FOR THE $$$Pat ,USAAge: 60+February 17, 2014
My husband I have traveled to the UK several times and really loved having the passes! We never had to wait in line for tickets and the convenience of taking the train was fast and fun! Most of the train stations were very convenient to the attractions that we were going too-many within a short walk. Conductors were very helpful when we were a bit confused. We will use the pass again and recommend it to friends. This trip we bought the London Plus pass and it covered a very large area. Thanks BritRail!

A Useful ServiceDav Vandenbroucke ,USAAge: 50-59September 14, 2013
My wife and I bought 7-use/15-day passes for our recent trip along the channel coast. It was handy to be able to take the train whenever we wanted to. We could just flash our passes and board. We bought the first-class passes, primarily because we wanted to be able to reserve seats if necessary. In fact, we never did that. We almost never traveled in the first class car, in part because it always seemed to be on the opposite end of the train. When we did travel first class, there didn't seem to be much of a difference. Thus, the BritRail pass is a good idea, but first class is probably not worth the extra cost.

Travelling the easy wayOla Hansen ,NorwayAge: 60+September 15, 2013
This is travelling the easy way. It is easy to use, since there is almost always a train leaving, and railroad staff are always helpful and service minded.

Convenient railpassStefan ,SwedenAge: 30-39September 15, 2013
Very convenient rail pass for travel in south-eastern England. During my holiday, I needed to make several one-way trips between a couple of cities in England, and this pass saved me a lot of money compared to buying tickets at the station right before the departure. It also allowed me to take longer routes and stop at some places on the way. The only problem I had was that the pass didn't work in the automatic ticket gates, and once when I got off at London King's Cross, there was no guard around who could let me out.

England at your fingertipsKyra ,AustraliaAge: 30-39October 18, 2013
The London Plus Pass was the perfect travelling companion for two marvellous weeks in June. Rainy day in London? No problem - it's beautiful in Brighton! The pass made it easy to jump on a train at short notice with no worrying about lining up for tickets or what it would cost or whether it was peak or off-peak. I could stay late in Cambridge for evensong, watch the sun hang low over Salisbury (and come home early from Canterbury when it started to rain...). No fuss, no lines. Just frequent services, clean comfortable carriages and a fortnight of views from the windows of rolling green hills, fat happy sheep, oast houses, white cliffs, church steeples, fields of poppies, golden canola and cloud shadows dancing over the meadows. I can't wait to see where my next BritRail Pass will take me.

Great Way to See EnglandPatricia Steffen ,USAAge: 60+September 12, 2013
I have purchased London Plus Passes for 4 different trips to England. One was with my brother and his wife and the others with grandchildren as graduation gifts. I found this a wonderful way for my first time travel to England companions to learn about the country. We had a wonderful time doing freestyle train travel. I always buy the 7 day passes, and plan to do so in the furture. It's great to leave the bags in London and take day trips.

Eastbourne & StonehengeLucie ,BelgiumAge: 50-59September 13, 2013
A wonderful holiday, we stayed in Eastbourne, and had two daytrips with our Britrail pass, to the lovely old town of Rye, and to Salisbury where we visited the Cathedral and took the bus to Stonehenge, a magic place. We also used the Britrail pass to travel from London to Eastbourne and back, very easy with our pass, never had to buy tickets, no queues. From Eastbourne we went to Beachy Head, the Seven Sisters, Alfriston, the Cuckmere Valley, a very beautiful area, with very nice walks. We made watercolour paintings off the beautiful views. The weather was perfect! I'd like to come again to England!

Great way to travelTracy Oates ,USAAge: 50-59September 13, 2013
My sister and I used the BritRail London Plus pass during a two week visit this summer. We were based in London, but used the pass to travel to Southampton, Stratford on Avon, Windsor and Bath. We also used the airport vouchers to travel back and forth to Heathrow. The trains were great, clean, on-time. My only negative comment would on traveling to London from Heathrow, there was not enough space for everybody's luggage, so there was luggage in the seats and aisles.

Trip 2012Chris and Bill McCready ,CanadaAge: 60+September 14, 2013
We took an extensive trip in April/May 2012. We took the train from London to Sheffield, Rochester, Maidstone, Ton Bridge and Ton bridge Wells. We enjoyed the convenience and comfort. We have friends all over England and we would recommend using the trains unless you required a car.
