Super convenient. We used our 3 day rail pass to go from Heathrow to Oxford, Oxford to Paddington and then from Paddington to Heathrow. No need to worry about buying tickets. Appreciated the discount for my 14 year old daughter. And used the BritPass 2 for 1 coupons for the London Eye and Tower of London. The pass more than paid for itself.

A wonderful "freedom" Pass. Allowed us the flexibility to select which days to travel. Not tied to specific dates other than within the overall window of the Pass. Purchasing prior to departure was a bonus.Validation was very simple . Planning and selecting trains journeys via the internet a breeze. The only caution is that this doesn't cover use of the London Underground or Bus system. It does say so in the blurb. For example, use of the Heathrow Express to Paddington (an excellent service) and then linking to St Pancras results in an extra cost for either a taxi or underground ticket. Trains were clean, comfortable and with one exception on time.

The BritRail Pass was one of the best things we bought for our trip to London. We were able to jump on and off anywhere we chose and because of that, we added a few extra stops on our journey. We never had to worry about getting tickets and could come and go as we pleased. This is one of the best values. I will say, that getting it validated was a bit confusing, considering we weren't sure where to go to do so. Also, using it for the first time was also confusing, since we didn't know exactly where to go. But once we realized that all we had to do was show it to anyone working at the entrance to the tracks, it was very easy.

Buying the Brit rail pass ahead of time was a big stress reducer while traveling. It was so convenient traveling from Healthrow to South Kensington where we were staying. We took several day trips to Cambridge and Canterbury and the pass made it so easy to hop from the Underground to the train stations. We did have to be very thoughtful in reading directions on ordering and how to use it because it is not cheap!! But a great value.

BritRail London Plus Pass
I purchased the BritRail LondonPlus to do excursions to the English countryside. However, I found London so interesting with so many first class sights that making excursions outside of London relatively boring. So I would not recommend the Plus version of the pass, unless one's vacation is at least 3-4 weeks in duration.

So Easy!
My wife and I used this on a recent trip and were amazed at the ease of rail travel. We took some day and even overnight trips from London. We also loved the Heathrow express option. Yes, there are other ways to get to and from Heathrow, but not as quickly or comfortably. My only caution is that this pass is relatively expensive, so do your homework ahead of time to make sure that you get your money's worth. It is not at all automatic that you will. It also saves a ton of time because you don't have to figure out ticket machines.

After arriving in London I had the pass validated at Waterloo Station and took the train to Bournemouth. This is an excellent and fast service. I enjoyed one full day in Bournemouth and then went on to Oxford, which was also a nice train ride. Also in Oxford I overnight in irder to be able to do enough sightseeing, and pub crawls. The 3rd sector of my 4-day pass I used to travel via London to Cambridge in order to compare these two world-famous university towns. I must say that I liked both of them very much; good old England! The last train ride took me back to London. All the trains I used were punctual and convenient. It was great!

Convenient, stress-free way to explore south-east England
We based ourselves in Brighton for a week of travel around the south-east of England. BritRail was a good choice as Brighton's station is large, modern, efficient and well-located in a city well-served by hotels and restaurants. There were regular trains north, east and west and we thoroughly enjoyed history-based trips to Lewes, Rye, Chichester and, of course, London. We look forward to using the Brit Rail system on our next trip to England. Having the airport express tickets, which did't count as a day on our travel pass, was a nice touch and created value for us. Thank you and well done.

Great experience
We had the best time riding the trains every day while staying in England. We went for the Olympics and stayed in Hatfield so we rode into London several days; but we also rode out to Dover and to Salisbury as well. It was a great experience and I would love to ride the rails from one town to another for an entire week to experience all England has to offer. The trains were clean and always on time.
