We had Britrail passes, standard class, for 3 weeks of touring. We found the rail system daunting at first due to inexperience and some unclear details like seat and coach selection/restrictions, but quickly got the hang of the scheduling system. We rode many different train lines over the course of our trip. Staff were always helpful. Seats were not very comfortable for lengthy rides, and luggage storage was sometimes challenging, but never unmanageable. Wifi was usually decent. Food (snacks, sandwiches, beverages) when offered, was good. Would definitely do it again. Major drawback is limited travel to smaller towns.

Used these passes on several trips now and user friendliness was excellent when flex pass was for a 2 month period. Now average because did not fully support a 6 week vacation. Otherwise this is an excellent product. Did have a bad experience with train delays and cancellations on one of my trips but that was the fault of the rail company not the pass. Mind you other travelers on the same journey could apply for refunds whereas no refund on the flexpass

My daughter and I purchased a standard 2 day flexpass to travel from Manchester airport by rail to Edinburgh, and later, from Edinburgh to London, with a stopover at Lockerbie to have lunch with a cousin. The trains were very comfortable; food on board was reasonably priced and very good. We went on to Paris on the Eurostar. Last year I visited Bristol and Margate, purchasing separate tickets at Victoria; in future I will definitely book a flexpass. Very convenient, and a worthwhile savings. Thank you!

The 4-day flexipass was great value for money and above all solved a logistical dilemma facing us: I wanted to return to Scotland after many years, my wife wanted to return to Cornwall. It was easy once I found each destination was 4-5 hours from London by rail, and that we could combine our initial and final days' travel with a trip from/to the airport on the Heathrow Express. The trains were comfortable, had room for our suitcases, and departed and arrived on time, even on the day when a storm had earlier damaged the northern rail overhead power lines. The 2 for 1 vouchers allowed us to see many London attractions we might have skipped otherwise, and it was quite convenient to have the Oyster cards on arrival. The BritRail Pass is a great program that I intend to use again in future.

We bought an 8 consecutive First Class pass for travel in England and Scotland, and would highly recommend! It saved us loads of money, and was very convenient and easy to use. We validated at a manned station the day before we wanted to start, and reserved seats on the trains we wanted for the next day....so easy. Trains were clean and comfortable, service was excellent, and some first class trains have super perks like lovely sandwiches and alcoholic beverages included. Many stations have 1st class lounges, as well, with lovely tea and coffee. We really enjoyed our experience.

I love the Britrail Pass. We used one for almost two weeks - the flexi pass - and it was great. I live in a US city with no trains and it's such a joy to travel by rail in the UK. We had reservations most of the time - recommended - but could also be spontaneous (went from Edinburgh to North Berwick for a few hours - excellent and fun staff). Thank you. Highly recommended.

Buying a 15 day pass prior to leaving the states worked well. We had reserved seats in standard class and were quite comfortable traveling from London to Glasgow. Our return from Edinburgh to London was less enjoyable due to an earlier train cancellation resulting in extreme overcrowding with people and luggage in the aisles, difficulty getting to toilets, inaccessible snack cart. The staff on both trains were very helpful and dealt with the overcrowded situation as well as possible. We would definitely utilize ACPRail again, realizing our experience was probably an unusual one.

Having the pass allows you to pay for your rail before you leave for your holiday which is most convenient. BritRail is efficient, you do not have to reserve a seat, you can if you want to. You get on the train you want and go and simply record your day and time you left in case the conductor asks to see your pass. We had to change our departure time twice, as we did make reservations, there was no problem. The agent did it with ease and efficiency. BritRail Pass is the way to go!
